Updating Your RSVP

Plans change - and that’s okay! You can update your RSVP anytime before the event. This guide explains how to change your response.

How to Update Your RSVP

Step 1: Find Your Original Invitation

Use the same link from your invitation email:

  • Search your inbox for the event name

  • Look for the original email from the host

  • Click View Invitation

Your unique link will take you back to the invitation with your current response shown.

Step 2: Change Your Response

Once you’re viewing the invitation:

  1. Your current RSVP status is displayed

  2. Click on a different response option:

    • Attending - If you can now make it

    • Not Attending - If you can no longer attend

    • Maybe - If you’re now uncertain

  3. If changing to “Attending”, complete the form with your details

  4. Submit your updated response

When to Update Your RSVP

Please update your RSVP as soon as you know your plans have changed:

  • Not Attending → Attending - Update quickly to ensure there’s still space

  • Maybe → Attending/Not Attending - Confirm when you’re certain

Can I Update After the RSVP Deadline?

The RSVP deadline (if one was set) is primarily for the host’s planning. You can typically still update your response after the deadline, but:

  • The host may have already finalised numbers

  • Last-minute changes may not be accommodated

  • Contact the host directly if you need to make late changes

Will the Host Be Notified?

Yes, when you update your RSVP:

  • The host can see your new response in their dashboard

  • They receive an updated headcount

  • Your notes and guest changes are visible to them

Troubleshooting

  • Check your spam/junk folder

  • Search for the event name or host’s name

  • Contact the host - they can share the link again

If you receive an error:

  • The event may have been cancelled

  • There might be a technical issue

  • Contact the host for a new link

I Need to Update But Can’t Access the Form

If the RSVP form isn’t showing:

  • The host may have disabled RSVP for that particular message

  • Try accessing via a different invitation email (like a reminder)

  • Contact the host directly

Common Questions

Q: How many times can I update my RSVP?

There’s no limit. Update as often as needed.

Q: Will the host see all my changes?

The host sees your current RSVP status. They won’t see a history of changes, just your latest response.

Q: Can I update on behalf of my guests?

Yes. When you update your RSVP, you can also update or remove any guests you previously added.

Q: What if the event is tomorrow and I need to cancel?

Update your RSVP as soon as possible and consider contacting the host directly to ensure they see your change in time.
