Purchasing Templates

If you prefer to pay for templates individually rather than subscribing, you can purchase templates one at a time. Each purchase gives you permanent access to that template for your specified event size. This guide explains how template purchases work.

How Template Pricing Works

Event Size Tiers

Templates are priced based on the number of attendees you expect for your event. This is called the “event size tier.” Common tiers include:

  • Intimate - For smaller gatherings (e.g., up to 50 guests)

  • Standard - For medium-sized events (e.g., 51-100 guests)

  • Large - For bigger celebrations (e.g., 101-200 guests)

  • Grand - For major events (e.g., 200+ guests)

The exact tier names and attendee ranges may vary by template.

Price Differences

Larger event sizes cost more because they allow you to invite more attendees. When you purchase a template, you’re buying the right to use it for events up to your chosen attendee limit.

Example pricing:

  • Intimate (up to 50 guests): $29.00

  • Standard (51-100 guests): $49.00

  • Large (101-200 guests): $69.00

  • Grand (200+ guests): $99.00

Actual prices vary by template.

How to Purchase a Template

Step 1: Find Your Template

Browse the template gallery and find a template you’d like to purchase. Click on it to view the full details.

Step 2: Select Your Event Size

On the template details page, you’ll see the available event size options with their prices. Choose the size that matches your expected guest count.

Important: Select a size with room to spare. If you expect 45 guests, consider purchasing the tier that allows up to 100, in case your list grows.

Step 3: Proceed to Checkout

Click the Purchase or Buy Now button. You’ll be redirected to our secure payment page powered by Stripe.

Step 4: Complete Payment

Enter your payment details:

  1. Card number

  2. Expiry date

  3. CVC/security code

  4. Billing address (if required)

Click Pay to complete your purchase.

Step 5: Access Your Template

After successful payment, you’ll be redirected back to Dear. Your template will now appear in your Templates page, marked as purchased. You can immediately start creating events with it.

What You Get with a Purchase

When you purchase a template, you receive:

  • Permanent access - The template is yours forever (no recurring fees)

  • All included messages - Pre-written invitation, reminder, and thank you messages

  • RSVP functionality - Fully functional response forms for your guests

  • No send limits - Send as many messages as you need (unlike subscriptions)

  • Event size limit - You can invite up to the maximum attendees for your tier

Upgrading Your Event Size

If your guest list grows beyond your purchased tier, you can upgrade to a larger event size. You’ll only pay the difference between your current tier and the new one.

How to Upgrade

  1. Go to Templates in the sidebar

  2. Click on the purchased template

  3. Look for the Upgrade Event Size option

  4. Select your new event size

  5. Pay the price difference

  6. Your template is now upgraded

Example: If you purchased the Intimate tier ($29) and want to upgrade to Standard ($49), you’ll pay $20 (the difference).

Multiple Purchases

Same Template, Different Events

One template purchase can be used for multiple events, as long as each event stays within your attendee limit. For example, if you bought a template for 100 guests, you could use it for:

  • A birthday party with 50 guests

  • An anniversary dinner with 30 guests

  • A graduation party with 80 guests

Different Templates

You can purchase as many different templates as you like. Each purchase is independent and gives you access to that specific template.

Purchase History

To view your purchase history:

  1. Click on your name in the top-right corner

  2. Select Subscription from the menu

  3. Click Manage Billing to access the Stripe billing portal

  4. View your payment history and receipts

Refunds

If you’re not satisfied with a template purchase, please contact our support team. Refund eligibility depends on:

  • Whether you’ve used the template to send invitations

  • How long ago the purchase was made

  • The specific circumstances

We review refund requests on a case-by-case basis.
