Changing Your Password
Keep your account secure by using a strong password and updating it periodically. Dear makes it easy to change your password whenever needed.
How to Change Your Password
Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the header
Select Profile from the menu
Click on the Security tab
Fill in the password fields:
New Password - Enter your new password
Confirm Password - Re-enter the new password to confirm
Current Password - Enter your existing password for verification
Click Save
You’ll see a confirmation that your password has been updated.
Password Requirements
Your new password should be:
At least 8 characters long
Different from common passwords
Unique to your Dear account
Tips for a strong password:
Use a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols
Avoid personal information (names, birthdays)
Consider using a password manager
Don’t reuse passwords from other sites
Current Password Required
For security, you must enter your current password whenever changing to a new one. This prevents unauthorised changes if someone gains temporary access to your device.
If you’ve forgotten your current password, you’ll need to reset it instead.
After Changing Your Password
Once your password is changed:
Your current session remains active
You’ll use the new password for future logins
Any other devices will need the new password
Google Sign-In Users
If you signed up using Google Sign-In, you may not have a Dear password set. In this case:
You can continue signing in with Google
Or set a password to enable email/password login as an alternative
To set a password for the first time, use the password fields in your Security settings.
