Setting Your Timezone
Your timezone ensures that scheduled messages are sent at the right time for you. Dear uses your timezone whenever you schedule a message send.
Why Timezone Matters
When you schedule a message for “9:00 AM tomorrow”, Dear needs to know which 9:00 AM you mean. Your timezone setting determines:
When scheduled messages go out - Messages send at the time you selected, in your timezone
How times are displayed - Scheduled send times show in your local time
Send records - Each send records which timezone was used
How to Set Your Timezone
Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar
Select Profile from the menu
Find the Timezone dropdown in Personal Information
Search for your city or timezone (e.g., “Auckland”, “London”, “New York”)
Select your timezone from the list
Click Save
Finding Your Timezone
The timezone dropdown shows all available timezones with their UTC offset. For example:
(UTC+13:00) Pacific/Auckland(UTC+00:00) Europe/London(UTC-05:00) America/New_York(UTC+10:00) Australia/Sydney
Tips for finding your timezone:
Search by city name (Auckland, Sydney, London)
Search by region (Pacific, Europe, America)
Look for your country’s major city if yours isn’t listed
Daylight Saving Time
Dear automatically handles daylight saving time transitions. If your region observes daylight saving:
The UTC offset will adjust automatically when clocks change
Your scheduled messages will still send at the correct local time
No action needed from you when clocks change
Changing Timezone Mid-Event
If you change your timezone after scheduling messages:
Already scheduled sends - Keep their original scheduled time (recorded in the timezone at scheduling)
New sends - Will use your new timezone
Display - Times show in your current timezone setting
This ensures previously scheduled messages still go out when you originally intended.

Default Timezone
If you haven’t set a timezone, Dear defaults to Pacific/Auckland (New Zealand time). We recommend setting your actual timezone to ensure accurate scheduling.
